While we move through summer 2021, there is some uncertainty regarding how Rotary can continue to facilitate those human connections Rotary members valued in the past. Though the mantra of hands face space' will undoubtedly remain a part of our daily program, it's clear that the confidence building is evident and face-to-face reconnections are being made. Rotary has changed. While we are in the summer months of 2021 there's a lingering sense of uncertainty regarding how our service to society will be able to include the essential human connection experienced by Rotary members of the past. Though the old adage of 'hands faces will certainly be part of our ongoing routine it is apparent that trust is growing and connections between face-to-face occur. Rotary is evolving. Rotary's networks create friendships lasting. The Pandemic was our catalyst to embrace the latest technology. The outbreak has forced us to enhance our technology practices. Our business remains online while also reintroducing our social and service activity. These new options are paired with the best practices for preventing pandemics to help create a brand new and promising prospects for Rotary. In a recent Rotary survey it was heartening to see that around 75 percent of clubs are planning for their business regular events" The summer months saw many of our participants out and about focusing on projects such as beaches and rivers being cleaned, trash picking and of course providing ongoing services to the society of Rotary volunteer teams giving their time and energy to help COVID testing and vaccination centers. It was great to hear that, during a recent Rotary survey, 75% were still planning on their regular programs and community-based projects which were previously useful to communities across Great Britain. Furthermore, I'm extremely happy to see that our Rotary Support Team continues to offer valuable sources to support and help with the various initiatives. Additionally, they maintain the infrastructure which keep their members safe as well as protect the public. Compliance and insurance is important. It is amazing that our Rotarians are able to develop innovative and inventive solutions for the toughest issues. This is the reason I was so elated to be given the opportunity to become a member of Rotary at the age of 22 in. Rotary gave me, and many other people with a community of trustworthy like-minded individuals from whom I've made genuine connections in the last 20 years.
